Shadow AI
Employees using AI tools without company approval or oversight, exposing sensitive data to third-party services.
Shadow AI is the AI counterpart of shadow IT: employees paste contracts, source code or customer data into personal ChatGPT accounts, outside any framework. The company has no traceability, no control and no contractual guarantee over that data.
Banning doesn't work: studies show a large majority of employees use AI, sanctioned or not. The effective answer is to provide an internal alternative at least as good — same models, familiar interface — within a controlled framework: exactly the role of a sovereign AI platform.
