Sovereign AI
Artificial intelligence where the company controls the infrastructure, data and models, with no legal dependency on a foreign operator.
Sovereign AI refers to an approach where the organization keeps end-to-end control: data never leaves its legal and technical perimeter, models can run on its own infrastructure, and no foreign vendor can access processed content or cut the service unilaterally.
In practice, sovereignty plays out on three levels: legal (the operator is not subject to extraterritorial laws like the US Cloud Act), technical (on-premise deployment or a trusted cloud, open-source models running locally) and operational (no dependency on a single model vendor).
